- Resume
Based on his professional experience with two of Chicago's leading design firms, Steven Gross / A.I.A. began his architectural practice as a sole proprietor in 1990 pursuing commercial, industrial and renovation related projects. Asked to sit on the Board of Directors of an expanding financial institution and assist in its growth, Steve understands retail planning and branch design in a way few architects do. His diverse experience also includes historic renovation, critical facade inspection, hotel and multi-family residential design, design-build project delivery methods, and sustainable design for industrial related projects.
Standard professional services include architectural design, construction documents preparation, public agency approval processing, bidding & negotiation, and construction administration. Basic services also include normal structural, mechanical and electrical engineering services.
Additional services include interior design, planning & site evaluations, feasibility analysis, existing conditions investigation, and facade inspections.
Motivated to design quality buildings and establish lasting client relationships, Steven Gross undertakes the responsibility for each project personally and with enthusiasm. Together with an engineering team of professional consultants relevant to the project, a fully integrated product is thereby more readily assured and efficiently provided. This rigorous attention to every aspect of the project with single point responsibility is what differentiates the approach of this sole proprietorship from larger architectural offices. Numerous award winning buildings and satisfied clients can attest to the success of this approach in producing significant value for the client.
